At the Ford Racing Invitational a few days back, Ford showed off a 2010 Mustang GT that was equipped with a new intake manifold developed by Ford Racing. The new manifold fits the company's modular V8 and is going through testing right now with an estimated sales date of this fall, and a price around $650. Why bother with this new manifold? Well, it doesn't add extra power to your car, but it does give you some modding options.

The main purpose of the Ford Racing intake manifold is to boost the engine's redline from 6,500 RPM to 7,500 RPM. This allows for enterprising modders to insert a bevy of components into the engine that can take advantage of that higher RPM for more power. A short list of these modifications would be the camshaft, valves, exhaust systems, and the list goes on. We'll have more details as we get closer to the manifold' fall release date.
