Mustang Challenge Gears Up For Mid-Ohio Race

The next round of the 2009 Mustang Challenge racing series will be taking place tomorrow at the Mid-Ohio Sports Cars Course in Lexington, Ohio, as part of the EMCO Gears Classic. Also at the track this weekend will be the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Cars Series race and a KONI Sports Car Challenge race.

The big story as the 2009 Mustang Challenge series nears completion is the race between Andrew Caddell and Ted Anthony Jr. for the top spot. Thus far, Caddell, the 2008 champion, has dominated the 2009 series, leading the points board at 369. Ted Anthony Jr. has his work cut out for him, as he trails with a total of 323. Dan Aweida, currently in a distant third place, has 239 points. After tomorrow's race, there are only two events left in the 2009 schedule. The next will be held at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, Illinois on July 26th, and the final race will take place at the Miller Motorsports Park in Toole, Utah on September 19th. Caddell works at Miller Motorsports Park as a Driving Instructor, so he is very familiar with the track and will be incredibly hard to beat.
