V10-Powered Mustang Project

A Mustang with a Viper's 8.4-liter V10
Scott Vanderschoor is like a lot of people. He likes to spend his free time working on his Mustang and adding modifications. Unlike a lot of people, however, he takes this to a whole new level: dropping a twin-turbo 8.4-liter V10 engine from a Dodge Viper into a Mustang. As you can imagine, that is a tough task, as the Ford Mustang really wasn't designed to have a 8.4-liter behemoth under the hood. One of the biggest projects for Vanderschoor was to move the entire firewall back a half foot in order to even get the engine into the engine compartment. New 2010 Unleashed Video

The Ford Motor Company has been running a promotion called '10 Unleashed over the past few months as a way to give Mustang fans a way to live out some of their muscle car dreams behind the wheel of a brand new Mustang. The first one featured a celebrity, drifter Vaughn Gittin while he was visiting Japan, but the new one which has just been released focuses on a blind man who hasn't been behind the wheel of a car in years.  read more »

2010 Mustang Gets 5-Star Safety Rating

The 2010 Ford Mustang has been getting a lot of attention for its styling, its handling abilities, its performance, and its affordable price tag. Now it has something new to brag about. A recent press release from the Ford Motor Company confirmed that the 2010 Mustang coupe has received five-star safety ratings from the U.S. government in front and side impact tests and in rollover safety. This new rating further cements Ford's reputation as the manufacturer of the safest cars on the road. The company has the most five-star safety rated cars of any auto manufacturer.

New Ford Racing Performance Parts

Ford Racing has just release two new sets of parts for the 2010 Ford Mustang. First up is a Shaker Hood System for the 2010 Ford Mustang GT that comes with a cast aluminum scoop that was designed to evoke the original Shaker models in 1969 and 1970. The system can, according to the website, be installed using basic tools in less than three hours. Next up are Ford Racing BOSS valve cover sets. Made out of cast aluminum, the covers are designed to "add some sparkle under the hood." The BOSS cover sets are available to fit engines with 289/302/351W style heads.  read more »
